Athlete Intelligence Platform

The year 2017 is a big year for i1 Biometrics®. We're raising the bar in the athlete performance technology industry with the introduction of our performance monitoring platform, Athlete Intelligence™. The platform features predictive analytics and real-time actionable insights called "coachable moments."

In 2013 i1 Biometrics set out with a mission to make sports safer. The focus was on developing a system that measures head impacts accurately. We deveoped an innovative material, VistaMaxx, that allowed us to insert smart technology into mouth guards and the Vector MouthGuard® was born. We also introduced a cloud-based platform system that gathered the data the Vector collected and offered real-time alerts to staff members on the sidelines when an impact exceeded a certain amount of g-force.

Since then we have spent years perfecting the Vector MouthGuard, making it the most accurate, commercialized impact sensing wearable sensor and now we're ready to go to the next level.

This year we're releasing a new wearable sensor called the Cue Sport Sensor™. It's a small (the size two quarters), lightweight, soft plastic, head-impact sensor. While the Vector MouthGuard is limited to caged helmet sports such as football or hockey, the Cue Sport Sensor can be attached to a headband, inserted into a helmet or skull cap, or attached to wrestling headgear. This makes the sensor versatile for sports such as soccer, rugby, and also helmeted sports.  With the price at $99 the product becomes affordable not only for team sports but for individual athletes as well.

Not only that, but do you remember the cloud-based platform we developed to collect the data from the Vector MouthGuard? We are releasing our brand new, Athlete Intelligence platform, that not only collects impact data, but performance metrics as well. It translates all the data into actionable insights that coaches and athletes can use to improve their game. You can still tell if a player has taken a hit that was too hard and too often, but now you can also understand when a player is using improper technique, or has been overworked which is resulting in potential injury risks. The platform syncs the impact sensor data with video and allow you to see side-by-side player statistics. As the system collects and translates more data it becomes smarter, evolving to include predictive data analytics.

i1 Biometrcs' CEO Jesse Harper says it best, "Players are looking for performance, parents are looking for safety, and coaches are looking for both.”

To help emphasize the expanded vision and product line, i1 Biometrics is shifting to enhance its branding with Athlete Intelligence, a name more suggestive of our primary focus of providing smart data for athletes in wide range of sports. You may notice the new name reflected in our marketing, social media and press. With the release of our new website at the beginning of the year we are excited to be moving forward and upward.
